Life and Basketball

A few things I’ve learned from watching college basketball in the past week:

1. It’s all about having the right attitude. If the Patriots think they could win, they probably would (but they didn't which is okay).

2. Other school teams were quite condescending, not knowing which division GMU was. Once, they’ve started winning and ended up in the Final Four, they got the recognition they wanted (even from fellow GMU students). Let’s go Mason, let’s Go!

3. They had to gain respect. The Patriots had to prove their might, because not a lot of people believed in them.

4. As Coach Larranaga said, “Education is the way to win.” Stratagem!

5. Show your support. Wear green and gold.

6. Even if the opponent is 18 points ahead, take a risk and throw a 3-point shot, even if the ball has the slightest chance of getting inside the net.

7. Do not underestimate your capabilities, but do not be overconfident either.

8. Just give it all your best. I mean, how often does Mason get into being in the Sweet Sixteen, Elite 8, and ending up in the Final Four?

9. When you hear the buzzer, the game is over.

10. Smile. The best disguise to a disappointed-looking face.
