this too will pass

sometimes i feel like i'm chasing the wrong dream. sometimes i feel like i'm chasing a random dream that is disguised as a lovely nightmare. i am a creature of my own dream. i am slowly growing a tail. a tail of failed attempts, frustrated ambitions and mediocre acts of intelligence. by the end of the year, a rubber mask will have covered my face and nobody will even recognize me. but on new year's day, i will be the same person i was once, only tired and jaded. if indeed i'm chasing the wrong dream, please shake my body to wakefulness. if u find me still breathing, please just throw a bucket of frigid water on my face, so that i will not forget the hurt, embarassment, short term bliss, acid reflux and heartache this dream has caused me.
